Let's start by breaking down the barrel construction on the 2021 CF. Demarini has outfitted the barrel on the CF with their proven Paraflex Plus Composite material. The Paraflex Plus Composite was introduced in 2020 and allowed Demarini to elongate the barrel on the 2021 CF which increased the size of the sweet spot. The Paraflex Plus Composite is lighter than its predecessor, simply known as Paraflex Composite, and the lighter composite material allows for a bigger barrel on the 2021 CF which directly leads to a larger more forgiving sweet spot. The elongated sweet spot gives the hitter more room for error and the best chance to square up that softball.
The 2021 Demarini CF also comes stocked with the new ReAction End Cap. The ReAction End Cap was constructed with lighter yet stronger materials than the previous end cap. The ReAction end cap is important to mention because a lighter end cap will create a more balanced swing weight which increases a hitter’s bat speed. However, you never want too light of an end cap because generally less weight means less strength or rigidness in the barrel. If the end cap is not strong enough the barrel will flex upon impact which causes an energy loss at the point of contact. The end cap plays a pivotal role in any bat’s performance. Demarini made it a point to find a lighter yet stronger end cap for the 2021 Demarini CF to ensure the hitter gets a balanced feel without sacrificing any power.
